October 4 and 5, 2010 at Sangeet Natak Akademi's new Black Box theatre space in the Rabindra Bhavan complex At DESH PRAVA: FESTIVAL OF PERFORMING ARTS, Anita Ratnam’s presentation MAALIE (mother) was based on works of Nigerian poets, Wole Soyinka, Chinua Achebe, Christopher Igbo, Tony Marinho and poetess Ifi Amadiume. Her presentation included danced sections, story telling with the use of theatrical props against a multi percussion score played live by Darbuka Siva.
